South African Citizenship Act 1995

PERSON the person in question

RULE South African Citizenship Act 1995 PROVIDES
the person in question is a South African citizen ONLY IF
        the person in question is a citizen by birth under section 2 of
                the South African Citizenship Act 1995 OR
        the person in question is a citizen by descent under section 3 of
                the South African Citizenship Act 1995 OR
        the person in question is a citizen by naturalisation under section 4
                of the South African Citizenship Act 1995

RULE South African Citizenship Act 1995 Section 2 PROVIDES
the person in question is a citizen by birth under section 2 of the South African Citizenship Act 1995 ONLY IF
        section 2(1) of the South African Citizenship Act 1995 applies OR
        section 2(2) of the South African Citizenship Act 1995 applies OR
        section 2(3) of the South African Citizenship Act 1995 applies

RULE South African Citizenship Act 1995 Section 2(1) PROVIDES
section 2(1) of the South African Citizenship Act 1995 applies ONLY IF
        section 2(1)(a) of the 
                        South African Citizenship Act 1995 applies OR
        section 2(1)(b) of the 
                        South African Citizenship Act 1995 applies

RULE South African Citizenship Act 1995 Section 2(1)(a) PROVIDES
section 2(1)(a) of the South African Citizenship Act 1995 applies ONLY IF
        the person in question was a South African citizen immediately prior 
                to the date of commencement of the South African 
                        Citizenship Amendment Act, 2010

RULE Citizenship Amendment Act, 2010 Commencment PROVIDES
        the person in question was a South African citizen immediately prior 
                to the date of commencement of the South African 
                        Citizenship Amendment Act, 2010 ONLY IF
                the person in question was a South African citizen prior to
                         7 December 2010

RULE South African Citizenship Act 1995 Section 2(1)(b) PROVIDES
section 2(1)(b) of the South African Citizenship Act 1995 applies ONLY IF
                the person in question was the child of
                        a South African citizen at the time of their birth

RULE South African Citizenship Act 1995 Section 2(2) PROVIDES
section 2(2) of the South African Citizenship Act 1995 applies ONLY IF
        section 2(2)(a) of the 
                        South African Citizenship Act 1995 applies AND
        section 2(2)(b) of the 
                        South African Citizenship Act 1995 applies

RULE South African Citizenship Act 1995 Section 2(2)(a) PROVIDES
section 2(2)(a) of the South African Citizenship Act 1995 applies ONLY IF
        the person in question was born in the republic of South Africa AND
        section 2(1) of the South African Citizenship Act 1995 
                                                        does not apply AND
        the person in question does not have the citizenship or 
                nationality of any other country AND
        the person in question does not have the right to
                such citizenship or nationality of another country

RULE South African Citizenship Act 1995 Section 2(2)(b) PROVIDES
section 2(2)(b) of the South African Citizenship Act 1995 applies ONLY IF
        the birth of the person in question  is registered in the 
                Republic in accordance with the Births and Deaths 
                        Registration Act, 1992

RULE South African Citizenship Act 1995 Section 2(3) PROVIDES
section 2(3) of the South African Citizenship Act 1995 applies ONLY IF
        the person in question was born in the republic of South Africa AND
        a parent of the person in question has been admitted into the 
                Republic for permanent residence AND
        section 2(3)(a) of the 
                        South African Citizenship Act 1995 applies AND
        section 2(3)(b) of the 
                        South African Citizenship Act 1995 applies

RULE South African Citizenship Act 1995 Section 2(3)(a) PROVIDES
section 2(3)(a) of the South African Citizenship Act 1995 applies ONLY IF
        the person in question lived in the Republic from the date of 
                their birth to the date of becoming a major

RULE South African Citizenship Act 1995 Section 2(3)(b) PROVIDES
section 2(3)(b) of the South African Citizenship Act 1995 applies ONLY IF
        the birth of the person in question is registered in the 
                Republic in accordance with the Births and Deaths 
                        Registration Act, 1992

RULE South African Citizenship Act 1995 Section 3 PROVIDES
the person in question is a citizen by descent under section 3 of the
                South African Citizenship Act 1995 ONLY IF
        the person in question is adopted in terms of the provision of the
                Children's Act by a South African citizen AND
        the birth of the person in question  is registered in the 
                Republic in accordance with the Births and Deaths 
                        Registration Act, 1992

RULE South African Citizenship Act 1995 Section 4 PROVIDES
the person in question is a citizen by naturalisation under section 4
                of the South African Citizenship Act 1995 ONLY IF
        section 4(1) of the South African Citizenship Act 1995 applies OR
        section 4(3) of the South African Citizenship Act 1995 applies 

RULE South African Citizenship Act 1995 Section 4(1) PROVIDES
section 4(1) of the South African Citizenship Act 1995 applies ONLY IF
        section 4(1)(a) of the 
                        South African Citizenship Act 1995 applies OR
        section 4(1)(b) of the 
                        South African Citizenship Act 1995 applies

RULE South African Citizenship Act 1995 Section 4(1)(a) PROVIDES
section 4(1)(a) of the South African Citizenship Act 1995 applies ONLY IF
        the person in question was a South African citizen by naturalisation
                immediately prior to the date of commencement of the 
                        South African Citizenship Amendment Act, 2010

RULE Citizenship Amendment Act, 2010 Commencment PROVIDES
        the person in question was a South African citizen by naturalisation
                immediately prior to the date of commencement of the 
                        South African Citizenship Amendment Act, 2010 ONLY IF
                the person in question was a South African citizen 
                        by naturalisation prior to 7 December 2010

RULE South African Citizenship Act 1995 Section 4(1)(b) PROVIDES
section 4(1)(b) of the South African Citizenship Act 1995 applies ONLY IF
        the person in question has been granted a naturalisation certificate

RULE South African Citizenship Act 1995 Section 4(3) PROVIDES
section 4(3) of the South African Citizenship Act 1995 applies ONLY IF
        the person in question was born in the republic of South Africa AND
        the person in question is aged 18 or over AND
        section 4(3)(a) of the 
                        South African Citizenship Act 1995 applies AND
        section 4(3)(b) of the 
                        South African Citizenship Act 1995 applies

RULE South African Citizenship Act 1995 Section 4(3)(a) PROVIDES
section 4(3)(a) of the South African Citizenship Act 1995 applies ONLY IF
        the person in question lived in the Republic from the date of 
                their birth to the date of becoming a major

RULE South African Citizenship Act 1995 Section 4(3)(b) PROVIDES
section 4(3)(b) of the South African Citizenship Act 1995 applies ONLY IF
        the birth of the person in question  is registered in the 
                Republic in accordance with the Births and Deaths 
                        Registration Act, 1992
