About this Bibliography

Project Background

This bibliography is compiled and updated by Robin Gardner and Fiona MacDowall using the following journal databases and platforms: SSRN, Google Scholar, Index to Legal Periodicals (EBSCO), AGIS (Informit), Hein Online, Central and Eastern Europe Online Library (English language articles in the Law, Constitution and Jurisprudence section), Sabinet (South African journals), and African Journals Online.

The main format of academic research on COVID-19 at present is still working papers and pre-published scholarship. Much of this is on open access on SSRN, which has a dedicated Coronavirus Hub for early stage non-peer reviewed research. For published scholarship, in order to publish scholarship quickly, many scholarly journals have introduced ways to fast-track publication, including a faster peer-review process, and publishing accepted manuscripts and advance online articles. Many journal platforms that are normally only available to subscribers or on a pay per article basis are making COVID-19 literature available on open access - some of this literature is freely available until a specified date. There are also many COVID-19 special issues of journals.

Links are provided in the bibliography for literature and other resources available on open access.

Please contact Robin Gardner at robin.gardner@hcourt.gov.au if you have any suggestions for additional content.
