Who Owns the Copyright?

The basic rule is that the author or creator is the first owner of copyright [CA s.35(2)]. But copyright ownership can also be decided by agreement. If there is no agreement, the rules in the CA apply. There are some exceptions to the general rule of ownership and these are briefly outlined below.
